On each recording we have made we have always done alternate mixes and single mixes. Sometimes just to hear the song in a different light, sometimes with the small hope that radio might pick something up. Gravity is a unique and special look into some of the violet burning's best songs.
Sugarlight USA: a longtime favorite of the band, this version offers a different drum performance and the song arranged as the hit single that it never was.
In Berlin Die Welt Begint: Making analog recordings on tape always presented challenges and created moments of creativity like this funny moment capturing Michael Pritzl and Michael Misiuk recording some German over the phone via a speakerphone.
Ilaria: This alternate mix of Ilaria features Michael Pritzl's love of Phase Shifters, Distorted bass and drum machines.
It's Alright: A beautiful stripped down version of this fan favorite from the Satellite Heart recordings.
to your heart: originally recorded for The Gravity Show project and later Michael decided it didnt quite fit on that decidedly mainstream project. this song has not been available ever.
she says electric: michael pritzl's first demo idea of this fan favorite. this song later appeared on Demonstrates Plastic and Elastic. Never been heard .
Followed by the band's first take on the Stranger recording, a different and beautiful performance.
the face of beauty/stay with me: a rare 4 track recording of the first time michael played these two songs, recording the ideas and thoughts as they came. The songs later appeared on the highly acclaimed recording, 'Strength'. Never been heard.
robot fluide robot: another rare 4 track recording of the beginning idea for robot fluide robot. this song later appeared on Demonstrates Plastic and Elastic. Never been heard.
Sky High: a rare vibey and rocking cover of The Prayer Chain classic song.
