Missions and Music 2008

Friends and Family,
The Mission:
to share a quote from one of our missionary friends:
Secularized global youth make up the largest un-reached people group in the world, held together by common values, symbols, and legends. These are formed by the shallow entertainment industry, pop culture, and economic strategies that prey on a whole generation. This, combined with a break down in family structure and values, sets the stage for anger, despair, hopelessness, and apathy.

We share God's broken heart for these young people.

Music has such a powerful impact on all of our lives. It touches places within each of us that nothing else can. We believe that God relates to us in every area of our lives including worship, and also including love, hope, faith, sorrow, death, loss, struggles, questions, belief, falling down, rising up, and so much more.

Music should really be the expression of all of these things that we experience in our lives on earth, and we are sure it will be an undescribable expression in our lives within eternity.

Going:
We have tried to remain faithful to going to the places off the beaten path to bring our music to small towns, as well as big cities, and to many countries all around the world. Currently we are considering missions trips to China, Australia, and Eastern Europe

Giving it away:
For many years we have been giving music/cds away at our shows, we have publicly shared that if you don't have enough money to buy something, then let us know, because we would rather you get the music even if you are short on money. We believe the music to be more precious than money. Music heals us, blesses us, helps us through the seasons of our lives, both the good and challenging.

Changes:
After 17 years of music ministry, we are considering new ways of raising support for our ministry. Since much of what we do is based in sharing the gospel, leading worship, and encouraging the church, We are expanding into more work with missions groups in volunteer situations, this is entirely not for a profit situation, but to go out and share the gospel and do what we are made to do in areas of need throughout the world. Including Eastern Europe, China, Australia and the Middle East.

We also hope to continue to serve in churches, colleges, rock clubs, coffeeshops, wherever we are invited.

Costs
Our largest cost is traveling on missions trips. Our second biggest cost is giving away music to those who can't afford it. Last summer in Eastern Europe we gave away hundreds of cds. We hope to continue giving music away with our new releases coming in 2008.

There are still those of us who believe that music can change lives and even our culture and the world. Because so many of us 'share' music with each other, we want to continue that trend and also expand our ministry alongside missions organizations throughout the world.

We also believe that there are many who would like to come along side with their time and resources, and share in the work and blessing of music and missions.

a simple way to help is to realize that a few donations a year would be similar to taking us to the movies or out for Starbucks a few times a year.
